WNFC: Reimagine Football Campaign
About WNFC:
The Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC) is high-quality women’s football, fueled by passion and a plan to ultimately deliver professional women’s tackle football to the world. The WNFC comprises twenty franchises that compete in a ten-week spring season culminating with playoffs and the IX Cup Championship. Athletes in the WNFC are offered state-of-the-art protection on the field and ample opportunities off it through partnerships with adidas and Riddell Sports, alliances developed by the WNFC leadership team.
Dynamic Leadership
The all-female leadership of the Women’s National Football Conference holds over 100 combined years of football experience. This powerful staff includes Odessa Jenkins (CEO), Elizabeth Jenkins (COO), April Christler (CTO), Desiree Abrams (Head of Officiating), Kristin Davis (CFO), Morgan Durham (VP of Admin.), Amari Hollis (Head of Branding), Andrea Snead (Team Account Manager), and LaToya Franklin (Head of Sports Medicine).
The WNFC is driven by passionate leaders with backgrounds in Fortune 500 companies and at the highest levels of the game, including the NFL, NCAA, and USA Football National Team. Unparalleled opportunities have been created as a result of the inspiration and implementation by WNFC leadership.
Professional Standards
Since the 1930s, pioneers of women’s football have been competing on the gridiron. Through the last ninety years, organizations have entered the market without consistent recognition by the global public. The WNFC reimagined an elevated standard and kicked off its inaugural season in 2019. In only one season, the WNFC established itself as an industry leader.
The WNFC features women’s football at the highest level through arguably the best talent in the country. Riddell, adidas, and other premier brands have committed to the advancement of women’s sports and partnered as primary league sponsors. In June of 2019, the league hosted the first IX Cup National Championship and All-Star weekend in Golden, Colorado.
While the 2020 season was cancelled due to safety measures amid the global pandemic, the WNFC remained concentrated on growth. A multi-week virtual camp was hosted for player development, featuring WNFC and NFL coaches. Leaders and athletes have been highlighted through internal and external media coverage, as preparation has continued for the 2021 season.
Focused Outlook
Within the next three years of existence, the league will raise the standard in women’s football by utilizing marketing and investment relationships. Work will be done to establish a developmental pipeline for upcoming talent. Prominent franchises will be added in expansion to the WNFC. Through the WNFC’s second season of high level competition, the rise of women in prestigious coaching positions, and the evolution of flag football as an NAIA scholarship sport, accessibility for females in the game will continue to increase.
The WNFC innovates to deliver a professional experience that empowers current and upcoming generations and advances the visibility of women in sports. Athletes will remain influential voices in the broader evolution of sports while breaking barriers for the future of the game. The Women’s National Football Conference entertains, inspires, and helps the world reimagine females in football.
Reimagine: What it Means to Reimagine Football
Reimagine Expectations
The Reimagine Football Campaign is designed to change the world’s perspective of women in football. Athletes in the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC) conquer adversity on and off the field. They are resilient competitors who defy outdated barriers to play the game they love.
From Washington, D.C. to Seattle, Washington, the Reimagine Football Campaign features one athlete from each of the twenty teams in the WNFC. These twenty individuals represent teams of sisters who battle together on the turf. Eighteen of the most renowned artists from around the globe collaborated to create this stunning work of photography and videography that celebrates women’s tackle football players.
Reimagine Diversity
The harmony of power and precision in football requires a selfless and unified team. All body types and skill sets are valued and indispensable. Without diversity, the game would not flourish. Diversity is not simply accepted, but wholly embraced. The 2020 Uniform Reveal highlights the fusion of beauty and strength in women’s tackle football players and introduces them in the professional light they deserve.
Reimagine the Vision
The female audience of football is growing, yet women’s tackle football has received the least investment of any major women’s sport. Absence of representation of women in sports has persisted in history, but will not be permanent. Fans, brands, and athletes of all genders can recognize the purity of the game showcased in the WNFC. As the skill level and athleticism in the league are given visibility, the WNFC believes possibilities for females will continue to increase.
Reimagine the Future of Football
While viewing these striking images and reading the backgrounds of elite athletes from around the country, imagine women continuing to thrive and becoming world-renowned for their success on the field. Receive the vision of opportunity for all females in all sports. Replace antiquated expectations with an image of the game that includes women. Reimagine football for everyone. Through the Reimagine Football Campaign, the Women’s National Football Conference aspires to ignite imaginations.
